AU Optronics Corp. ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced that consolidated net sales revenue for April 2003 totaled NT$7,616 million, while unconsolidated net sales was NT$7,091 million.
Consolidated revenues for April 2003 rose 12.2% over March. Consolidated and unconsolidated revenues for January through April 2003 totaled NT$25,879 million and NT$24,206 million, respectively.
"The revenue growth for April 2003 was mainly due to record shipments and strong customer demand for both large and small & medium size panels. Approximately 910K large size panels were shipped in April 2003, while unit shipment for small & medium size panels was over 1.25 million." said AUO CFO & VP, Mr. Max Cheng.
